Race car almost ready to go back to the track

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

After a few weeks off for the Christmas break we are starting to get the race car back together for another attack on the drag strip,

we now have a 408CI motor for the car which we assembled over the christmas break, Clayton at CD heads has out done him self with the heads, he should have them finished by friday ready to go back onto the motor,

Craig from Craigs Automatics has given us some of the old parts out of his race car, so the car is now at the panel shop getting the front end put in it, Vince should have this done on the weekend and then Dave from DNK refinishing will repaint the engine bay so we can put it all back together

we also have a full Data logging system being fitted to the car, this will enable us to fine tune the car with ease! the system is a PCS system from the USA which CHE are now resellers of,

CHE VT Race Car - 9.6@147mph

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

First I must say a big thanks to all the guys who helped out tonight:

Steve (69r1)
Josh (jgc085)
Reece

With out these guys our night would have been a hell of a lot more stressful!!

First pass she went 9.6@147 turning the tyres pretty damn hard, so I pulled out some power.

Then Dave was a little less aggressive on the transbrake and it bogged and only did a 1.7 60 foot but ran 9.9@142.

With the same tune up and a little more transbrake, she went 9.6@143 with the 60 foot coming down to a 1.51.

We then made a few suspension changes and pulled another pound of boost out and went 9.7@141 with a 1.48 60 foot on 11psi!!

So over the next few days I’ll go over the logs and start using the e-boost 2 to its full potential and bring the boost on after the 60 foot mark to get the MPH back up and hopefully will keep the 60’s down!!

Well got it on the dyno this afternoon and gave her a quick squirt to make sure everything was in order before the C16 and boost goes in it.

She rolled up 520rwhp and didn’t even get off the converter.

Can’t wait till tomorrow

626rwhp on 15psi which is great with the Powerglide using a 5800rpm converter.

The old 60lb siemans injectors are at 100% duty when compared to when the motor was in my ute they were at ~80% making 660rwhp

Time to find some bigger injectors. Tthe turbos are only just starting to work!

Here is a small pull to 12psi, notice how aggressive she comes on

We finished the intercooler pipes this morning, checked all fluids etc.

Straight out the front and gave that trans brake a try out.

First thing i noticed no problems getting up on the converter, so the NOS is going back in the office for the moment.
