Alloytec Over the Radiator Cold Air Intake (OTR CAI) Pt 2

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

OK, we finally got the OTR CAI tested. She’s not pretty but it is only a test unit.

Using our normal 175kw test mule, filled with what ever 91 octane unleaded the owner could get cheap, made 190 rwhp with the stock intake. The car has previously made 191rwhp so that was close enough for me.

After installing the OTR intake we got 199.1 rwhp. 200+ rwhp is there for the taking with some more time spent on the tune.

The only draw back with these is that you will need a customised tune to use the intake, as the MAF gets a little freaked out and the MAF table needs a lot of work.

Production will start shortly and should be ready in around 3 weeks time.

Now for some pics and dyno sheet:

Alloytec Over the Radiator Cold Air Intake (OTR CAI)

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

Well after a lot of thought we have been making an OTR for the Alloytec VZ models.

We started off wondering if we could modify a V8 one to fit, but no chance as the room is very very limited. So I went about making a template for our sheet metal guy to whip up a test unit.

The test unit should be ready tomorrow to start testing on a few cars. The unit will have the MAF bolt directly to the OTR and then a silicon joiner will be used to join the MAF to the throttle body.

Here are a few of the pics in the template stages:

Braided Clutch and Remote Bleed Line

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

In addition to our braided clutch line, we now have a remote clutch bleed line. This runs up into the back corner of the engine bay making bleeding the clutch a simple job. No more lying on the ground to get into the bell housing, and more importantly no more clutch fluid running down the inside of your bell housing.

The kit is supplied with everything required to fit to your car. You will need to move the gearbox back on the bell housing to fit the line.

The lines are $135 each for the braided clutch line and remote bleeder, or $250 for the pair.
